Veljko Despotović


Born in 1931 in Zagreb, Veljko Despotovic is one of the most prominent film and television production designers in Serbia. Since graduating in 1958 from Belgrade University’s School of Architecture, he has worked on over 100 domestic and international films and co-productions. He has received film festival awards for his work on numerous films, including Red Hot, The Man Who Should be Killed, The Strangler, Grotesque Tragedy, T.T. Syndrome, Labyrinth, The Cordon, Goose Feather, Tears for Sale and Tour. In 1995, Despotovic received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association of Applied Art Painters of Serbia. He is a member of the Serbian Academy of Film Art and Science.
