EAVE 2010 European Producers Workshop Culminates in Belgrade

Belgrade, October 18 - The EAVE 2010 European Producers Workshop will come to a close with its third and last workshop in Belgrade, Serbia October 18-25. The motion picture company Art & Popcorn, in partnership with the Serbia Film Commission, the USAID Competitiveness Project and the Ministry of Culture of Republic of Serbia, organized the event.
Established in 1998, EAVE (European audiovisual entrepreneurs) is the most prominent European training program for film producers. The European Union Support Program for visual activities MEDIA and a number of film funds across Europe have supported this program since its inception. Film producers from Eastern Europe have recently begun attending the seminars.
During this final workshop, the 50 participants from 28 countries will have the opportunity to meet 74 high-profile European film industry professionals in pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings in order to pitch the 30 projects developed during this year's EAVE training cycle.
In addition to the 30 projects developed during the year at EAVE, 6 projects from Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Ukraine will be presented in Belgrade to EAVE decision makers in individual meetings and in a public pitch. These were selected in a special B2B - Belgrade coproduction market held in the context of the EAVE Workshop.

This year, EAVE is especially proud of the record number of 53 key industry professionals who have confirmed their attendance as decision makers and partners from leading co-production markets in Cannes, Berlin and Cottbus. They will participate in a panel discussion on the opportunities these events offer.
The event is packed with plenary sessions, group work and individual meetings with EAVE experts and guest experts, including Linda Beath (IT) - Strategic Planning for Production Companies, Alan Fountain (UK) - Career Development, Laurence Kaye (UK) - Music Rights, Sibylle Kurz (DE) - Pitching, Nikolaj Nikitin (DE) - Festivals & Strategies and Roberto Olla (FR) - Legal Aspects of Distribution.
During a special Media Future Day, Diana Elbaum (BE) and Yves Baudechon (BE) will discuss production, marketing and distribution of the film Les Barons, by Nabil Ben Yadir. Michel Reilhac (FR) will discuss media futures and Alan Fountain (UK) will moderate brainstorming session on Thinking the Future.
A mini-EAVE session tailored to the requirements of local professionals will also take place. EAVE expert Sibylle Kurz will give an introduction on how to pitch and represent a project. EAVE group leader Jani Thiltges will offer insight on co-producing in Europe. All plenary sessions of Workshop 3 will be open to local professionals.
