The Other Guys


Following a series of successful commercials for Kinder, ENI, Mastercard and the New Yorker, Crater Studio has turned its focus to film projects. The Belgrade based studio recently partnered with Evil Eye, a visual effects studio in Los Angeles, on The Other Guys, the U.S. blockbuster film produced by Columbia Pictures. Director Adam McCay was extremely pleased with the final cut of the highly demanding and complex bar scene developed by a team of 36 Crater artists. The team handled tracking, modeling, texture, digital lightning, animation and compositing for the bar scene. Crater artists also developed computer graphics (CG) for a helicopter scene and a peacock flying over the city in the film’s final scene. Crater Studio’s breakthrough opportunity on this project showcases the talent and capacity of the Serbian film industry’s visual segment. It also indicates likely future collaborations for other studios in the industry.
