Titanic TV series in production on locations in Kragujevac and Belgrade
September 5th, Belgrade - The latest version of the story of the Titanic, produced by the Italian company DeAngelis Media, is currently shooting on location in Serbia. The twelve-hour drama series, currently under the working title ‘Blood and Steel’, focuses on the lives of people connected to the Belfast shipyard, where the luxury liner was built, from 1897 until its tragic demise. It provides viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at how the ship was built and the financial cost-cutting which ultimately led to the loss of 105 lives.
The series will be directed by the IFTA winning Irish director Ciaran Donnelly, best known for his work on Camelot and The Tudors. The international cast is lead by Chris Noth who will portray financier J.P.Morgan, Neve Campbell playing a journalist covering the Titanic’s maiden voyage and Derek Jacobi who plays Lord William Pirrie, chairman of the construction company Hartland and Wolff.
The Kragujevac Zastava car factory is the setting for the Belfast shipyard, while Edwardian Belfast will be recreated in locations around Belgrade. After the completion of 5 weeks of filming in Belgrade, the crew will continue shooting on locations in Dublin.

Work in Progress, which DeAngelis already collaborated with on theTV series ‘Il Commissario Nardone’, shot in Serbia last year. TV series is scheduled to be aired on RAI and Antena 3 in spring 2012 celebrating the 100th anniversary of Titanic’s maiden voyage.
