Zoran Simjanović


Born in Belgrade in 1946, Zoran Simjanovic graduated from Belgrade’s Music Academy. His career began in the 1960s, when he founded and played in several successful rock bands. In 1975, he began composing music for film, television and theater. Simjanovic has written music scores for more than 60 feature films, television films and series, theatrical plays, cartoons and advertising clips. He has won awards for his work on several films, including The Fragrance of Wild Flowers, Balkan Express, When Father was Away on Business, Tito and Me, In the Name of the Father and the Son, and Loving Glances. Since 1993 he has been a professor of applied music at the Faculty of Scenic Arts in Belgrade. Simjanovic is a member of the European Film Academy, the International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) and the French Association of Music Composers (SACEM). He works and lives in Belgrade.
