Established in 2000, Dream Company specializes in the production of films and commercials. The company is fully self-sufficient, relying on market demand, not government subsidies for its operations. Under the leadership of producer Miroslav Mitic, Dream Company has partnered with production companies around the world to develop a multitude of feature films. The company has established itself as a leader in the production, distribution and advertisement of feature films in Serbia and across the western Balkans. Mitic is currently working with U.S. partners to widen the company’s scope and to improve the climate in Serbia for the co-production of high budget feature films. This includes expanding film services, providing tax incentives and raising the number of quality films produced in Serbia.

Services and Capacity

Dream Company works with the most talented young film makers in Serbia and the Balkans, offering a full range of preproduction, executive production, advertising and PR services. The company works closely with its partners in the finance and investment industries to ensure full financing of all films it produces.

Credits

Broadcast in 2004, Zona Zamfirova is the most successful and the most watched film in the history of Serbian film. It sold over 300,000 DVDs copies and was watched by over two million viewers in cinemas across the former Yugoslavia. The film received numerous awards at over ten international film festivals, including Valencia, Spain and Kiev, Ukraine. As a result of the film’s success, Dream Production was named Serbia’s best production company of 2003.

The Robbery of the Third Reich was the most popular film of 2004. Over half a million viewers watched the film in cinemas. The film sold more than 150,000 DVDs.

Originally developed by a small independent production house, Balkan Brothers became a Dream Company production in 2005, when the company took over postproduction, distribution and advertising for the film. Owing largely to the degradation of the film industry and rampant piracy, the film did not fare well in cinemas when it was released. It did however win a number of awards at various film festivals, including the Grand Prix at the X European Co-production film festival.

Released in 2006, Skies above the Landscape was the first co-production by Dream Company. The film was a success, attracting over 500,000 viewers in cinemas across the former Yugoslavia, and selling over 100,000 DVDs.

Dream Company partnered with production companies in the U.S. and Bosnia Herzegovina for Nafaka, its second co-production. Winning numerous awards at film festivals around the world, the film was a success in cinemas and in terms of DVD sales in 2007 and 2008.
