Answer: The Film Commission’s role is entirely distinct from and different to the role and mandate of the Film Center Serbia. The Serbia Film Commission’s focus is on pure economic development - particularly on the mechanics of trade and the investment around the production of international films in Serbia. The Film Commission’s goal is therefore to build an investment climate whereby is to international producers will maximize their spend their in the Serbian economy. In contrast, Film Center Serbia’s aim is to enable the development of Serbian Filmmakers and their film products, with a focus on heritage and cultural enterprise. The two bodies are envisaged as complimentary programs in the promotion and development of Film in Serbia.

Answer: The Serbia film sector has a history of highly skilled service to international productions. This includes competent crews, including extremely talented design and crafts people, facilities and equipment companies, studios, and post-production service providers.

Serbia is extremely cost competitive, which is particularly important in the current financial environment. Shoots in Serbia are an estimated 35% less than London and 36% less than Los Angeles. Line One of the table below shows the comparative budget of the same film in several different locations. Using the London production cost as a baseline, Line Two demonstrates that it would be 35% cheaper to film the same film in Belgrade than it would be in London.
