The Heritage Museum (Zavičajni muzej) was founded in 1962 as Heritage Museum Collection by the decision of the National Board of Municipality of Ruma. The museum encompasses four departments (archeological, ethnological, historical and art department) and a technical collection. Within these four departments there are 10,500 items organized into various collections. There is also a specialized library within the Museum having book fund of 2500 units. The building of the Ruma Heritage Museum has been under the protection of the state, as a cultural good of great significance. It was erected in 1772, by the side of baron Marko Aleksandar Pejačević as the Franciscan Gymnasium. The Museum possesses the display area of 200 m², and 200 m² of gallery space as well.
