The Belgrade City Museum has officially joined the Film Friendly programme, providing film and television productions with easier access to some of the capital’s most distinctive historical and cultural filming locations.
The museum manages a network of 12 heritage properties, collections, and historic sites, all of which are available for film productions. Several of these locations are already featured in the Film in Serbia location database, including Princess Ljubica’s Residence, The Memorial Museum of Jovan Cvijić, The Memorial Museum of Ivo Andrić, Paja Jovanović Museum, Zemun Museum, and other authentic spaces representing different historical periods and architectural styles. Productions planning to film at these locations are required to submit their filming requests at least three weeks prior to the start of production.
The Film Friendly programme was created to strengthen cooperation between cultural institutions, local authorities, and the film industry by streamlining permitting procedures, improving institutional support for productions, and promoting Serbia as an attractive filming destination. In addition to mapping filming locations, the Serbia Film Commission is working with the Belgrade City Museum on developing practical guidelines to facilitate planning and filming at protected cultural heritage sites. From now on, production companies interested in filming at any of the museum’s properties will be able to find all relevant procedures and practical information on the museum’s profile within the Film Friendly Institutions section of the Film in Serbia platform.

By joining the Film Friendly programme, the Belgrade City Museum expands the range of authentic historical interiors, heritage buildings, and cultural sites available to filmmakers, further enriching Serbia’s portfolio of unique filming locations.
