A Medieval fortification in Bač is one of the biggest fortresses of that time in Pannonia. It is a so-called “Water town”, because it is surrounded with water, and it can be accessed only by draw-bridges. The fortress has a pentagonal base and on each corner there are protruding towers. There is one more, the highest, central tower inside the fortress. The tower served as the most important part of the fortress defense system and also as a watch-tower. Today, it is the oldest medieval fortress in Vojvodina, built by Petar Varadi.
