The oldest preserved house in Srem, dating back to 18th century, is in Ogar settlement. It was built by a rich man from Macva region when he was forced to flee to Srem, and the wealth of his family is reflected in the use of the then rare material for roof construction – flat tiles. A special value is added to the house by the gable on the street side of the house with its abundant adornments and details.
