The Rakovac monastery is situated on the northern slopes of the Fruška gora mountain, next to the Rakovački stream, about 10 km from Novi Sad. The monastery church has been dedicated to Saint Cosmas and Damian. In the beginning of the 18th century it was active centre for translation, transcription and reproduction. Dušan’s Law Code was reproduced in this monastery. In the Second World War the church and the bell-tower were mined. The monastery restoration started in the nineties, while reconstruction of the residential buildings started in 2003.
